newsFinal press-releaseMoscow, April 5, 2007 A consortium of four companies held on 3-4 April the first Software Development Best Practices Conference in Moscow was held. The organizers – RUSSOFT Association, Dr. Dobb’s Events Group, Restec Expo Technologies (former Fort-Ross) and CMP Technologies, expect it to be the biggest annual conference for Russian software developers starting from 2007. Originally Boston based conference that offers practical skills on implementation of best practices, quality and design into software products addressed numerous regional needs of software development professionals living and working in Russia. SD Best Practices Moscow gathered over 300 participants from all over Russia and CIS countries. The conference was held with support from its Platinum sponsor – IBM, which also held a unique track helping conference attendees become more familiar and proficient with IBM's software development platforms and tools. Gold sponsors of the conference – Intel and Microsoft as well as Silver sponsors – Exigen Services, Epicor Scala, Sun Microsystems and CodeGear participated in exhibition which was set up in the main hall of the conference venue. The program of the conference comprised three primary tracks “Build, Design, Test, Deploy”, “People, Projects & Teams” and “IBM Session”. Besides several keynote visionaries delivered their speeches:

It is not a secret that in each region software developers encounter their local regionally specific challenges which they need to face in order to design worldwide competitive products. The combination of world and local Russian SW development experience in SD Best Practices Moscow gives Russian developers the vision of the ways to improve their skills and succeed in their vocation. From now on Russian software engineers have a world class conference brought into maximum proximity with local software development market. In their closing notes the organizers promised to follow the participants’ wishes and requests and invite even more interesting and renowned luminaries next year. And the attendees admitted “it was a must-attend conference” and they “definitely will involve more colleagues into participation in the 2008 conference”. |
